Chris and Larry Kendall were initiated into the world of construction early during their childhoods in Armonk, NY. Their father, Larry Kendall Sr., ran a successful general contracting business that catered to high-end homes and renovations in the Greenwich and Westchester areas. Their first tastes of work were for their father’s business, and they continued working for him throughout the years, performing all aspects of construction and project management. When the economy started to slip in late 2008, the brothers began the Greenwich Handyman, to make up for the dip in large construction. Chris describes the company as doing anything large to small. “We’ve built some of the largest homes in Greenwich and we’ll hang a curtain if you want us to,” he says. Their father is still involved as a not-so-silent partner, he adds, and it’s Larry Sr.’s client base of 30 years that has helped make the business a success. They’re on call 24 hours a day, but if there’s downtime Chris spends it with his wife and 18-month-old daughter, while Larry heads for some fresh air, hunting and fishing. They hope you won’t be calling with a septic overflow, but they’ll be there if you need them.
